That is something I am continually working on in my life. I worry about what will happen to me once I graduate from college. Will I get a job? Am I even ready or capable of a “real job”? I worry about my relationships. Am I a good enough sister or is there more I could be doing to invest in my relationship with my brother? I worry about my future. Am I deserving enough to be loved forever? Could somebody really want to spend their life with me? My goodness, I even worry about where I’m going to park when I can’t find a parking spot in a lot.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt’s so easy to find things to worry about and get sucked into the black hole of doubt. What I have come to realize is that when I worry, I am standing under the clouds. I am shielding myself from my own happiness, when there is a world of goodness and hope in the sunlight. There is a family who loves me, companies who will believe in me, and there is a respect for myself that I am most worthy and deserving of the kind of love that little girls spend their days dreaming about. My goal is to choose the sunlight each day. To remind myself to believe in my own talents and values. To seek out the goodness each person and each experience brings to my life. To find the pockets of light, amongst the hard parts in life where I can be happy and my truest self and bask in those moments. Growing up, he had always sold Chevys - I'd often go visit him at the dealership with my mom, to the point where they say my first word was actually 'Vette'. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhen I was about 18 yrs old, my dad drove a Corvette in the parade, parking in front of my aunt's house afterwards as we had a big family cookout in the back yard. I rushed to the front as soon as I saw him pulling up, asking if I might be able to drive it, just down the street. My countless requests failed, to the point where I became upset. It was my dream car, my first word... yet I had never even driven one. Why couldn't he see how important this was to me?\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAfter his final 'NO', I swore to him that I would buy one before he did. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHe laughed at me.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe man I looked up to the most in my life, the one who taught me everything I knew about cars, laughed at me when I told him my dream.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI spent the next 5 years of my life with one single goal: To prove him wrong. I worked like I never had before, day and night, multiple jobs just to save up money and make my dream a reality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn my 23rd birthday, I flew up to Sacramento and picked up my first Corvette. I called him that night as I was driving down the PCH, leaving a voicemail I wish I could hear today. \"Hey dad, just wanted you to know that I did what you said I couldn't.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAhhh... thats making me tear up as I write it. I love my dad, and I know he never meant to hurt me by laughing - if Sven had said that to me I probably would have done the same thing. The truth is, we often end up finding motivation where we least expect to - many times from people who have no idea how powerful their words really were.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy hope for this ZOX is that it reminds you to stay strong. There's no need to be upset at the people who doubt you - use their doubt as fuel to succeed. Don't just prove them wrong, blow their expectations out of the water to the point where you establish you are a force to be reckoned with. As I got older and made it through high school and college, I was able to gain more confidence in who I was. I started to feel that I had a lot to offer to this world. Even though there still are plenty of times that I doubt my worth, whether that's when I compare myself to others, or maybe a relationship doesn't work out, I always have to remember that I am still enough. They are extremely close.  Watching my wife deal with the pain of constant vigil for Robin is heartbreaking.  It consumes a lot of her thoughts on almost a daily basis and it crushes her that she is mostly powerless to help her friend with the extreme depression they are feeling and expressing relentlessly.  Knowing what Robin is going through, I can completely understand how they could feel hopeless.  Several lost jobs, one of them an entire career, divorce, child custody battles over a newborn, losing a parent, legal issues, mental health problems, substance abuse issues stemming from these things )and contributing to them)... it's a lot. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRobin has, on multiple occasions, spoken about this despair and how it might be solved through an extreme action. There have been several interventions by my wife and by law enforcement, an ongoing issue for almost as long as I can remember.  While it has been really hard for my wife to constantly attend to this, I know for sure that if she were to lose Robin she would be absolutely devastated. Robin’s child would grow up without a parent, their mother would never forgive herself. To say they'd be missed is a massive understatement - they're incredibly important to a lot of people, even though they don’t think they are.
