Story
We've all felt it - the silence as we wait for the news. Is everything
okay, or are our lives about to be turned upside down?
About a year ago, when we first designed this Strap for Childhood
cancer awareness month, the idea was simple - for every one we sold,
we'd donate one to a child (or family of a child) who's currently
battling cancer. We weren't able to find a place to donate them on
time so we postponed the release until this year instead, working to
find a better partner to get these in the hands of people who could
use them the most.
Over the past year, something happened. I watched a friend of my
wife's go through the diagnosis and loss of her child in a matter of
months. Words can not express the level of pain I felt in just seeing
what the family went through - as a father of three myself, even the
thought of losing a child is more than my heart can bear. Watching it
happen made the concept behind this ZOX we had designed so much more
important to me - it brought the true heartache of childhood cancer to
light in a way I will never forget. Now, as we start off September, I'm
determined to do something meaningful.
With the help of a member from our very own ZOX community, we're
working with Beat Childhood Cancer, a wonderful organization with over
50 locations that specialize in research, awareness, and ultimately
the survival of children fighting cancer. For every one purchased,
we're donating one for them to give to a child (or their family) as a
token of our solidarity with them. It's our way of giving a little hug
when they need it the most - a reminder that they are not alone in
this struggle and we're here, cheering them on.
One thing that's always been important to all of us here at ZOX is
standing up for the underdog. I've always believed that the value in
the growth of our brand was most powerful because it lets us bring
awareness to causes that needed attention - the scale we've seen over
the years has allowed us to change the lives of hundreds of thousands
of people around the world, all because of a little bracelet that
uplifts and encourages.
My hope for you, with this wonderful ZOX, is two-fold. First, I hope
it keeps the little ones who need prayers on your heart. Second, I
hope it reminds you that nothing can hold you back. That you're
braver, stronger, and smarter than you think.
Love you guys.
