Forgive Yourself

Of every name we’ve given a ZOX this year, this one is my favorite so far. The reminder here is something I believe each of us need now more than ever - to let go of everything we hold against ourselves. Our imperfections, flaws, mistakes and past are things that we all carry with us, often without even realizing how much we allow them to impact our decisions. We doubt our abilities because we made a mistake last time we tried, we feel ugly because we ate too much pizza the night before. We let toxic relationships of the past define how we believe we should be treated in the future, as though that’s all we deserve.

Throughout everything going on right now, one of the most powerful ways we normally comfort one another (hugs) is not as feasible given social distancing. But what we can (and should) do right now is focus on who really needs a hug the most right now - ourselves.

My hope for this ZOX is that it reminds you to take a moment for you. To let go of all the things you’re holding on to that make you feel like you’re not good enough, that you don’t deserve happiness, love or success.
