There's a song lyric that goes “When you’re smilin, the whole world smiles with you”. Did you know that there is actually some scientific truth to that? Many psychologists have found that when we see others smiling, we choose to mimic their facial expressions in order to empathize with others. I love the concept of a smile being contagious and how a simple smile can affect the people around us, even a stranger passing by can absorb the joy or ‘Good Vibes’ emulated by our smile. In our daily routine, we pass by hundreds, if not thousands of people. Some of those people enjoying their days, while others are just trying to get through the next hour. We can't control what goes on in the lives of others, but we can control how we make others feel. So go ahead and show off those pearly whites. You never know how much having a smile can change the lives of those around us.
