I want to ask you a question: When is the last time you truly felt worry-free? When you woke up excited for what was next rather than stressing about it?
When I asked myself that same question, I recognized that I was pretty bad at letting go of my fears. Each morning, it was like my brain would search for the first thing it could find to worry about. It'd feel like a dark cloud over my head, one that would continue to wear me down all day until I was just exhausted.
The reason I made this Strap is as a reminder to myself that the power of hope will always be stronger than that of fear. There's a great quote by Nobel Prize winner Desmond Tutu that illustrates this perfectly: "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness."
My goal in sharing this is to help you understand the power of your mind, of the way you perceive each situation. We can choose to worry and fear things we have no control over, or we can trust that things will be ok. Hope is that trust. Like a beacon, a shift in our mind that guides us through even the darkest storm. It perseveres, choosing to always see the absolute best in any situation. Most importantly though - hope never gives up. I pray this Strap will give you that power to do the same.
