Hunt for Happiness

I have a tendency to get overwhelmed by what’s going on around me because I am a self-proclaimed over-thinker and perfectionist. I want to get things done weeks before I need to because I feel satisfied knowing that nothing’s sneaking up on me. However, life is sneaky. It’s unpredictable, and it’s something I have very little control over. Is that scary? Yes. Is it sort of fun not knowing what comes next at times? Also, yes. 

My grandma once told me: “don’t go borrowing trouble.” In other words: don’t put tomorrow’s work on your shoulders today. Tomorrow has its own set of problems, but that’s for another time. Today has its own agenda. I wish I could say that I have adopted that mantra as my daily motivation for a stress-free day, but sometimes things just don’t go as planned — or as we want them to. Life has its own way of working things out, and that in itself is somewhat of a relief.

I don’t know what I’m doing all the time, but I know that I am trying my best. At the end of the day, isn’t that all that really matters? You put your best foot forward, and you tried. In my book, that’s a major success in itself. My hope for you, with this beautiful Strap, is that it reminds you of the same: Happiness isn't always in tomorrow - sometimes it's in the journey to get there.
