Story:
There are so many times in life when we may feel like giving up. As silly as it sounds those times for me involved math. From Elementary School to college math has been something I have struggled with. I remember my dad trying to motivate me with Reese’s Pieces to practice giving change for a dollar in first grade. For many, math comes easy and some even enjoy it. That just wasn’t the case with me. No matter how hard I tried, how much effort I put in, or how many tutoring sessions I attended, I still struggled.

As I went on to higher level courses in high school and college it became even more difficult. I would spend hours studying only to fail the test. Some semesters I even wondered if I would pass the class. Yet, somehow, I always did. After all the tears, anxiety, and feelings of not being smart enough, I never gave up. I never surrendered. I chose to believe in myself. After passing each class I gained more and more confidence in myself; I was smart enough. Even when it seems like the weight of the world is crashing down on your shoulders, never surrender and keep believing in yourself because you will come out the other side stronger than before.
