Story:
The one common thread we see in all innovators, entrepreneurs and influential people is their work ethic and desire to persevere despite the odds. At 21 years old, Steve Jobs started his company in his family’s garage which he funded by selling his Volkswagen bus. Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon during a game; then he continued to calmly walk over to the free-throw line and make both of his free throws on an injury that most people aren’t even able to stand on. Bethany Hamilton suffered a shark attack while surfing and lost her arm. She used her injury as motivation to become an even greater surfer than before. Each of these people have suffered pain either physical or figuratively in their journey, but in all circumstances, those challenges and sacrificeselevated them to new levels. Steve Jobs went on to change technology forever, Kobe played a crucial role in bringing the Lakers to the playoffs that year, and Bethany Hamilton wouldn’t have inspired so many people if she gave up. Sometimes your path in life will be hard, but if you want something bad enough it will be more than worth it in the end.
