We all have moments in our lives that we wish we could forget. Maybe you have experienced a time where you lost a loved one, struggled with addiction or abuse, went through a difficult breakup, or lost a job, the list could go on and on. The reality of life is that it is imperfect and flawed. We are at some point going to encounter a time where things are just not going right. Recently, someone close to me experienced a miscarriage with their first child. It was heartbreaking to watch her and her husband go through this time in their life. As I tried to find the words to comfort her, I told her that I wished there was something I could do to take away the pain and reverse this. With so much strength and bravery, she looked at me and told me that she feels there is a reason for everything in life and she is choosing to believe that even in some of the darkest moments there is a purpose. She continued on to say that although she is grieving she is looking forward to the hope that the future holds for her. She reminded me of the importance of accepting what is and choosing to move forward. The beauty of the past is that it is the past. It is behind us and we can either choose to let it affect what lies ahead, or we can choose to release it and start fresh. Don’t let what has been, stop you from what could be, there is so much more to your story that hasn’t been written yet.
