There’s power in the word “yes.” And there’s something scary about it, as well. I think fear causes many people to steer away from saying yes to things, even if they really want it. In Sergio Caredda’s article “The Power of Saying Yes,” he concludes with a line that I believe is extremely powerful. He says, “here’s the reality: a positive response will always give you more than a no.”
Do me a favor and read that again.
Of course, you should always say no if you’re uncomfortable. If something isn’t right, or if it’s dangerous. But what about the things that you’re really excited about, but you’re unsure if you’ll succeed? What’s the harm in saying “yes” and finding out?
There’s no harm in trial and error. Failure allows you the chance to try again. Saying “no” shuts out the chance to even try the first time.
This ZOX is a powerful reminder that opportunities can sometimes be once in a lifetime. There’s no harm in trying, and I hope this encouraging strap gives you the courage to say yes to that dream you have an opportunity to pursue. You’re going to do great.
