Recently I experienced a random act of kindness. I had gone for an errand and decided to stop off at a drive-through coffee shop to grab a midday coffee. After I ordered, I patiently waited behind a couple of other cars to reach the window to pay. When I finally reached the window, instead of the person reminding me of how much I owed, to my surprise, I was told that my coffee had already been paid for by the car in front of me. I was so surprised I really didn't know what to say or do. The person at the window suggested maybe paying it forward and buying the drink of the person who was waiting in line behind me. I thought was a great idea, so I did, in hopes that it might make their day a little brighter too. As I drove home, with a smile on my face I began to think about how such a little gesture can change the whole pace of someone's day. The person who paid for my drink was a complete stranger, yet chose to do something kind for someone without having any motivation other than kindness and love. I now realize how important it is to act out of love because when you do, it creates a ripple effect that can change lives. Whether it be for a stranger or a loved one, think about ways in which you can make a difference in someone else’s life right now by spreading love. You just might be surprised by how big of an impact something small can have.
