Story:
Cancer has a way of turning your world upside down, and it seems like everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. When my mother was diagnosed in 2015, I began to notice that support could seem non-existent depending on which type of cancer you had and whether you were the patient or a caregiver. Thankfully, I also noticed the instant emotional connection that can be found when you meet someone else who recognizes your scars because they have similar ones from their own struggles. For this design, I wanted to incorporate as many different ribbons as I could. The range of colors, blends, patterning, and shades presented a challenge, so I morphed the ribbon shape into Celtic knots to connect them. The fight against cancer isn't a solitary one. It takes an army of warriors- be they patients, doctors, nurses, caregivers, or loved ones.
